Sofitel City Centre Singapore @ Wallich Street

Opened in October, Sofitel City Centre is easily my current favourite hotel in Singapore! After experiencing both Sofitel SO and Sofitel Sentosa, I would say that Sofitel City Centre is the epitome of French luxury. From its interior design, to location and service,  I would give it 10 out of 10. While the check-in counter and lobby area is on level 5, staff would readily welcome you at the waiting area on the ground floor.

We had a great view Tanjong Pagar from Level 10 – I’ve never actually seen all these rows of shophouses from above despite being in the area often. The room was huge and cosy. Of course, every single item in the room was in its pristine condition, which made it even more special – knowing I’m the first few to experience them.

The bathroom was huge – completed with toiletries from Lanvin, no less. I loved how the was a tray over the bathtub, with a recommended read and a glass for your wine – perfect staycay amenity – checked.

The study and lounging area are right in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows and are very well-equipped. A full set of stationery is available for your use. There was even a smartphone with data that you could bring out and comes with notifications on the latest events in town. There were more books – including a Singapore City colouring book and heritage write-ups which come with beautiful photos of our hawker food. The room comes complete with a Bose speaker that you could connect easily to your phone via bluetooth and even a gym bag and yoga mat! All these details are so thoughtful and incredible – no doubt a 5-star hotel where a guest’s lifestyle is at the centre of it all!

Minibar comes with Nespresso and a full box of TWG tea and tea set await you – I even found my favourite Paris-Singapore Tea which I always order onboard SQ Business Class. When we were back at the hotel, there was already turn-down service – look at my goodnight mat and slippers! There was even a lovely box of chocolates right next to my bed. Oh, how pampering!

Don’t miss out chilling at the pool on the 6th floor! An infinity pool overlooking the city lights, it’s really beautiful at night. I absolutely adored the sunbeds by the pool where you can just jump right straight into the pool. You’ll find sunblock and after-sun gel conveniently here as well. Gym facilities are available here too.

To maximise the awesome experience of our room – room service for breakfast the next morning! Again, service was amazing and food came right on the dot, at the requested time. The table setup was just <33. And hey, I just found one of the cheapest and yummiest avocado toast in town! At only $12, this toast had half an avo on it with some really delicious creme fraiche, edamame and julienned carrots. The eggs and shrooms breakfast set was not too shabby too.

I can’t wait to be back again at Sofitel City Centre Singapore! It’s definitely a luxurious getaway right in the centre of the hustle and bustle. 🙂 A night’s stay is at about $370.
